Domain mapping error
-
I own a domain through GoDaddy. When I try to purchase Domain Mapping using the domain I own it says “This domain is already mapped to another WordPress site.” How is it possible someone else has it mapped to their WordPress site if I own the domain?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’ve already checked to make sure I have the nameservers correct on GoDaddy – Domain – Management, if that helps.

I’m sorry but the URL is mapped to a WordPress.com blog. http://lifewithliv.com is set as the primary domain for http://lifewithliv.wordpress.com

So GoDaddy sold me a domain someone else already owns? New to this but I didn’t think that was possible. Guess I’ll be contacting GoDaddy…

I contacted GoDaddy and they confirmed I own the domain and say this is WordPress’s error…mapping my domain to someone else’s blog. How do I contact WordPress to clear this up?

This has already been flagged for the staff to help
What probably happened is that someone had the domain name – it was mapped to a blog here – then the domain registration expired and the person did not renew the registration for some reason – but the domain mapping might not have expired yet – or the domain mapping has a bit of a period when it still maps after it expires – the staff should be able to fix it for you – happens from time to time

You should now be able to map the domain to your WordPress.com blog. You can go to Store > Domains on your blog’s dashboard and follow the steps there.
Please take a look at the following guide before going through the process.
