domain mapping error
-
I am trying to map a domain i have registered via 123reg to my wordpress blog. When I do the steps via my dashboard on wordpress i see the following message.
Possible problem with bytesbite.me
We were unable to verify that bytesbite.me is pointing to WordPress.com. If you own this domain, follow the directions below to get it ready for your blog. If you don’t own it, try a different name to see if something else is available. If the domain is available, you may be able to register it with another registrar and then map it to your blog.
How to fix it
Using the DNS tools provided by your domain registrar, remove any existing nameservers and add the following:
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COM
Then come back here and try again. It may take several hours for our system to recognize the changes. If all else fails
If you need help, or if your registrar recommends a different solution, please contact support via the Feedback link at the top right of this page. We will help you sort it out.
Now I can’t find the Feedback link this post mentions. Seems to me like this message is out of date compared to the UI. When I try the steps it talk about 123reg domain mangement I get the following message. I am trying to contact their support, but its about as bad as wordpress support.
Setting nameservers to ns1.wordpress.com and ns2.wordpress.com
Please wait…
Nameservers for bytesbite.me were not changed to
ns1.wordpress.com and ns2.wordpress.com
Error text: Authentication Error.Anyone got any idea on what is going on ??

Some international registrars require that name servers be specially configured. Support staff have to do some magic for it to work. I’ve done that for your domain so it should work now.
The error message was incorrect, it should refer to the Support link, not Feedback link (we changed the link a while back but missed that message). I’ve fixed that now too.
I can’t find any record of support tickets from your email address or about your blog. If you’ve tried to contact WordPress.com support and received no response, please try again – we didn’t receive your message.

Thanks for the reply and for fixing my problem. I am still a little confused.
http://bytesbite.me points to my blog now, but http://www.bytesbite.me does not…
Any ideas why ??
