    Hi,

I’m having a very scary Domain Mapping Error for myempiricallife.com

I log in to my wordpress account, and everything is missing.

    Please help!!

  • Hi,

The domain myempiricallife.com is not under your username ‘tgacic’. Can you please reply to this thread from the correct account/email?

I’m also sending an email to the correct address/account which currently owns the domain, to detail what’s going on.

    Thanks for that.

Please re-send, an old address of mine has now been re-activated, and it may be related to that.

    Hi ehtis,

When you can, let’s get it sorted out.

  • Hi there,

Thanks for verifying the account! I’ll be happy to contact the registrar to see if we can restore myempiricallife.com to your account, but I cannot guarantee that we will be able to get the domain back. If I am successful, you can go ahead and use the manual payment request form for you to repurchase the domain.

I will let you know once I hear back from the registrar.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks!

Hi, my domain is in order. I have spoken to wild west domains. Everything is in order. The problem is with wordpress. How does an entire website just disappear with no trace of account or anything? Thanks for your help

My old myempiricallife account is not relevant. It was when i first started my blog and it has no new blog entries. It was under the free wordpress. My new tgacic account was under the premium? I need to restore my tgacic account . Why is it not showing any thread of a backend or account? It is frankly bizarre

    Hi there,

I am very new to WordPress so sorry if I am not meant to comment on this thread but I think I am having the same issues. I am not techie at all but have tried to log onto my WordPress both yesterday and today to find everything has gone when in the dashboard.

‘It says wordpress cannot retrieve any of the plugins’, there are no posts or blog entries etc … however I can still go to my site itself?

What has happened – I really don’t know what to do is that the end of my website?

  • @madsdeville25 I do not see any WordPress.com sites on your account, but it also sounds like your may have a self-hosted WordPress (also called “.org”) site, which are sites that you create on a web host, like Bluehost, GoDaddy, etc.

Is that the case? If so then your host will be able to help you, as we do not have access to *all WordPress sites* just sites on our WordPress.com service.

Hi guys. Yesterday, my entire blog was back. All the posts and everything. My emails were back. Someone found it and re-mapped it. Today, my blog is redirecting to mishfash, which is a domain I bought years ago , and never used. What is going on? This is a WordPress issue. I have spoken both to my domain and web servers. This is definitely a WordPress issue. Please: stop looking at ANYTHING that was connected to the username myempiricallife. NONE of this was relevant. I’m sorry my tech friend who was trying to help contacted you through myempiricallife username. He did not know. The only account relevant is tgacic. The website is myempiricallife.com. Yesterday THIS ISSUE WAS COMPLETELY SOLVED. I got my website back and my emails. Today someone messed it up again and redirected it to a never used before site? I need this resolved ASAP. This is a business and connected to work emails. I am not getting my emails

Furthermore, I can’t have this happen in my life anymore. This is a disaster. I need to get someone to bring back my site to how it was. Which, there was absolutely no reason as to why it should disappeared in the first place or why these other sites would be connected to it. My payments are up to date. Why did this happen? I will then need to get someone to transfer my site over to another server. When I bought my domain , I bought it through WordPress who bought it through Wild West domains. Wild West domains won’t let me have control over my domain because it was bought through WordPress. How do I get control over my own domain again? To be honest with you, none of this is good enough. My site, I worked for years and years on. There is so much work going on behind this blog. To have it completely disappear, then my emails not work because of this, then I cannot even redirect my emails with Wild West domains because of WordPress? It’s a business nightmare. Can someone please, I beg of you, restore my website? It was fixed yesterday, before someone ruined it again. Then, can someone explain to me how I get control over my own domain with Wild West domains? Thank you everyone

  • Hi @tgacic, actually the user myempiricallife is relevant, because that user owns myempiricallife.com currently. You can gain control over the domain by having myempiricallife transfer the domain to you. They would just need to get in touch with us.

This domain has not been paid for yet. Can you have myempiricallife take care of that or contact us?

I noticed in the meantime that they have pointed the domain to the correct name servers so it is working and showing your current site. Please note, though, as long as the invoice is not paid, the domain could be cancelled again. Please work with myempiricallife to resolve this as soon as possible.

    Hey supernovia,
Both accounts are mine. I get charged for the domain in May each year and I paid for this. It comes through as a once of renewal payment? I don’t understand what is going on here. I am getting charged for domain mapping of my old myempiricallifewordpress site? Mish fash? Neither of these are relevant anymore. I was under the impression that I now have a premium site that my website exist on? I pay for this so that I can have myempiricallife.com without the WordPress bit? Can you please give me step by step instructions on how I can take my domain away from WordPress control? Right now, when I call Wild West domains, they won’t let me make changes to my account because they are WordPress controlled. My emails are working now. I would really appreciate someone sending me step by step instructions and any pertinent invoices ? I mean, I was under the impression I was up to date paid since my payments for the year happen in may, but the money is not the issue here. Obviously, any site under the myempiricallife username is not relevant or used anymore. I just want to find out how I can get control over my myempiricallife.com domain so this never happens again because it’s cost me a lot of money. Maybe there is something I’m not understanding here, I’m not very tech savvy. Thanks everyone

  • @tgacic since both accounts are yours, can you log out then log into the other account? We’ll be better able to help since you will be logged in as the domain owner.

Please also check the email for that other account. Thanks!

    Hey supernovia,

I’ve logged into my other account however, the email associated with that account no longer exists since that account hasn’t been used in years! Literally, nothing on this account has been used in years. Is it possible to send details to my email (email visible only to moderators and staff) instead? I really need to resolve this issue. Cheers

  • Thanks for logging into this account, @myempiricallife :) You can easily update the email address here:

    https://wordpress.com/me/account

You’ll get an email confirmation at the new address. I’ll also go ahead and mail the invoice the address specified here.
