Domain Mapping Expiry – dot Com and dot Org

    I have a WordPress.com account with katinwanderlust.wordpress.com domain. I mapped the domain last year so it would redirect to katalinawatt.com. I have since got external web hosting and now have that domain as a WordPress.Org website (the domain remains katalinawatt.com).

    My domain mapping on my WordPress.com account is about to expire. I’m not fussed about having katinwanderlust.wordpress.com redirect to katalinawatt.com as I’ve exported all my content to the WordPress.org site and I’m planning to delete the WordPress.com site after the domain mapping expires.

    I just want to check that letting the domain mapping expire and deleting the WordPress.com account won’t affect my WordPress.Org account and domain. Is that correct?

    Hi there,

    katalinawatt.com is currently not pointing to WordPress.com. I’m sure that letting the domain mapping expire and deleting the WordPress.com account won’t affect your WordPress.Org account and your domain.
