Domain Mapping Failed During Registration
-
Hi there,
I recently registered a new wordpress blog and domain, however something appears to have failed with the tregistration process. Instead of the domain being mapped, I now get an error message saying that the domain has tried to be registered but is not pointing to the blog. I registered the domain with the new blog, hence the blog name, eyeswideopendotnet.wordpress.
When I signed up, it said eyeswideopen.net was available, so I ordered it. Yet I was taken to the domain page where it said the the domain was not pointing to the blog. I couldn’t follow the tips, because I registered the domain through wordpress, not a 3rd party. It appears something went wrong with the registration process and now it is stuck.I have registered a few .coms and .nets and I have never had this kind of trouble before. Please assist with a resolution.

It seems that this domain name already has been registered by somebody else since 2004. Thought it has a ‘pending delete’ status, which means that it might become available between now and 80 days. Otherwise I’m afraid you have to choose a different domain name.
You can go to Upgrades > Domains on your blog’s dashboard and follow the steps there.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
