Domain mapping for deleted site

  I deleted my WordPress site prior to deleting the domain mapping. My custom domain name is hosted elsewhere and now every time I try to navigate to that website it attempts to redirect to my deleted WordPress site. The custom domain is hosted by GoDaddy and they are telling me the issue is with WordPress. How can I resolve this?
