Domain mapping – help
-
Hi. I’ve got a blog at https://snowballsinwinter.wordpress.com and now have a new domain – http://www.jasonnoble.co.uk. On the new domain I have WordPress installed and have imported the old blog files to the new site. But most visitors are still going to the old site at wordpress.com. How do I change the wordpress.com site to point to the new one?
Not sure if this is domain mapping or if I’ve gone about this the wrong way.
I also use email on the new domain and understand that the domain mapping service stops that working.
Suggestions on the best options for me?
Thanks

It looks like you have domain mapping already, so that’s a great start.
You will need to update the nameservers at your domain registrar for jasonnoble.co.uk to point to WordPress.com, and then update your primary domain on snowballsinwinter.wordpress.com to point to your custom domain under the Store > Domains tab.
These instructions should help:

Thanks Jackie. Found a great blog post that talked me through the steps and it’s now working perfectly – email and everything. And very simple. Just name server changes twice! No need for custom DNS settings for the email then.
