Domain Mapping Help

    I just signed up for the free account on WordPress a few days ago and I’m trying to map my GoDaddy domain. When originally signing up, I saw that there was an option to add your own domain for $13 but I’m not seeing that option anymore. Do I have to sign up for premium at $99/year just to have my own outside domain? I feel like I’ve just been swindled. Like I wanted to change my domain and now all that shows up is the $99/year option.

    Hi @omegakappamu, we did recently change options. We no longer host domains without a plan. We’d like to continue to be able to offer free features to users who don’t want to upgrade, and provide better support for those who do. All of this costs us, of course, and we will keep working to provide best value we can.

    You are also welcome to buy hosting elsewhere and use the free WordPress.org software. We just would not be able to provide support or maintenance. I hope that helps.
