Domain mapping help

  I want to map one of my wordpress blog to my domain. The procedure is not clear.

  While I am logged into wordpress.com,

  If I go from inside the blog, it directly takes me to the payment page / paypal, without asking for the mapping part – as to which domain I want to map.

  Whereas, if I start from https://wordpress.com/pricing/ where it asks ‘already own a domain?’, then it creates a new blog for me & takes to the payment page !!!

  Confusing.

  I want to map an existing blog on wordpress.com to a domain that I already have.

  Is there any screenshot tutorial or any help?

  Start by choosing a plan from this page:

  https://wordpress.com/plans

  And then select the domain mapping option from this page:

  https://wordpress.com/domains/add

  The domain credit included in the plan will cover the cost of domain mapping.

  There is, yes. Once you have paid for the upgrades, you can set up domain mapping using the steps in this guide:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/#2-ask-your-domain-provider-to-update-your-dns-settings

  I paid, I have one question.

  I find that my website is redirecting to the blog on wordpress.

  But isn’t it that it should show my website address on the address bar, instead of a simple redirect (which even i can do from the domain panel of my site)?

  indiapoint.net will show in your browser’s address bar (instead of anuponthenet.wordpress.com) if you set it as the primary domain for your site:

  Domains

  Once you’ve done that, you should be all set :)

  Great, glad that worked!

  what it means?

  Your plan will expire on 13th July 2018 but we automatically renew upgrades 30 days before (13th June 2018). This is to make sure there is enough time to sort out any issues like failed payments, before the upgrade expires. It just helps to ensure there are no surprises or unwanted changes to your site.

  We will email the address on your Account Settings page to let you know that your upgrades are due for renewal though.
