Domain Mapping if Self Hosted?

    Hello,

    I have a wordpress blog (withywindle.wordpress.com) that I have been writing at and been assigning to the domain http://www.designlively.com using the WordPress Domain Mapping.

    I recently moved to a WordPress self-hosted blog (same designlively.com URL). My domain mapping is about to expire. Do I need to renew this service?

    Hi Kat,

    It looks to me like there is no need for you to renew your domain mapping with WordPress.com.

    Your site is now hosted elsewhere and your domain points to that new location. You’ll be fine to let the Domain mapping expire.

    I’d make sure that you’ve disabled the auto renew if you haven’t already. You can do that in your WordPress.com Dashboard, under Store, then My Upgrades. There should be a link with your domain name there to disable the auto renew.
