Domain Mapping in 2022

    I downgraded a few WP blogs from Premium, and I’m now trying to find a way to run the FREE blog but just pay to have the domain mapped.

    Whenever I try to do that it adds a Pro plan to my cart, for $180, and when I remove that Pro plan, the ‘free’ $13 domain mapping disappears with it.

    How can I pay for JUST the domain mapping? (If I have to transfer the domain to WP, I’ll do that too, but I have no need for any of the paid plans.)

    Hi there,

    We haven’t offered domain mapping as a stand-alone upgrade in since late 2016. Sites that already had an upgrade like that could continue renewing it, but for any new domain mapping upgrades (nor called Domain Connection), a paid plan has been required for the past few years.

    At the moment we only offer the Pro plan, but we’re actively working on getting some more affordable options available, in particular to accommodate people who don’t need all the features in Pro, but who still want to use their own domain. I can’t give a ETA on exactly when those will be available, but this is our product team’s main priority at the moment, and it should be within the next few weeks, if you’re willing to wait a bit.
