Domain Mapping Inquiry

    Hi,
    This is my first time building a WordPress based website so I need some guidance.

    So basically our company already has a domain that is managed by another registrar/server, and I would like to add a subdomain (blog.example.com) under that domain and manage it with WordPress (Business Plan).

    So I was trying to purchase the Business Plan, and found out I have to choose a new domain name or key in the existing domain name in order to proceed. In my case, I’m going with the latter option (domain mapping) because I don’t have to purchase a new domain, but just add a new subdomain under my domain.
    So I requested my company’s IT team to create a new subdomain under the domain and they requested for the IP address to add the A record.

    So can you provide the IP address for A record? If not, could you kindly assist me on what are the steps I have to take?

    As you say, you can map a sub-domain from another provider as per these instructions: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/map-subdomain/#if-the-domains-dns-is-not-managed-at-word-press-com-ie-its-with-go-daddy-1-amp-1-etc

    You wouldn’t need an A Record or name server, but instead a CNAME with the value being the default WordPress.com domain (example.WordPress.com).
