Domain mapping issues – name servers not an option.

I have moved to wordpress.com from weebly.com. I already have two domain names registered with wizards.co.uk, which are currently pointing to my weebly site. I have followed the instructions to upgrade to map one domain – anewadventureeveryday.com – to lifecansparkle.wordpress.com, but my registrar is saying they need the IP address of your server. They also say that if they change the name servers as stated in the wordpress.com instructions, this will affect my email @anewadventureeveryday.com which they run for me through their own system.

    Can you advise?

  • You have a couple options.

If your registrar requires that you create A records, you may use the list below, but be aware that your domain might stop working at some point in the future. If that happens, please get in touch with us to find out the most current IPs and then update your A records accordingly.

Please be sure to create at least two, pointing to two different IPs from the list below:

    76.74.254.120 72.233.69.6 72.233.2.58 66.155.9.238 76.74.254.123 66.155.11.238

You can also use the nameservers, and then follow the instructions on this page to set up your email:

Please let me know if you have further questions or if anything is unclear.

My registrar has followed your instructions regarding the A records, but my website is not showing at any of the relevant addresses: not anewadventureeveryday.com not anewadventureeveryday.co.uk nor lifecansparkle.wordpress.com

Using nameservers is not an option, as I already have email set up at anewadventureeveryday.com through my registrar.

What can be done? If this is not fixable, how would I go about getting a refund for the domain upgrades I have purchased from wordpress.com?

  • It looks like you have canceled the upgrades.

I am sorry that domain mapping did not work out for your particular situation.

No worries. It might be something to look into, though, for other customers.

  • I will make a note of it.
