Domain Mapping Issues!! NEED HELP ASAP!!
-
I am trying to use my register DOT EAST domain as my wordpress domain. I tried mapping the domain and it did not work. I contacted both Dot Easy and WordPress and no one could resolve the issue. I am not the best with websites, but I do well with instructions in ENGLISH and not computer technical terms.
Please help me out!!

Hello there,
This is a peer support forum where Volunteers ie. your fellow bloggers answer questions. We do not provide support by email and there is no such thing as one member’s issue being more urgent than another member’s issue is. The instructions for purchasing a domain mapping upgrade and mapping an existing domain are here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/#instructions-for-mapping-an-existing-domain -
I tried domain mapping and my site wasn’t loading for three days. I am asking for assistance on how to do it again and needed some easier instructions.
I also needed help as soon as possible because this is a project I am working on that needed to be completed fast.
Thank you

What is the domain name you have registered and what is the blog you want to map that name to? Who is your registrar?

For starters you did not do step # 1:
You name-servers are not pointed to WordPress.COM – the name servers are changed at your Registrar – doteasy.
Then follow the rest of the steps if you have not already done so in the link above.
Once things are set correctly it can take up to 24 to 72 hours for the changes to migrate across the internet.

I did that in the beginning and it never went into effect. I followed the steps as well, but I think what the problem may have been was i purchased the domain mapping first and then tried to change the dns?

WordPress.COM wants the name-servers done first – I thought there was some error checking requiring the name servers to be set first – but a whois shows the name-servers still pointing to the Registrar – that needs to be fixed and the fix happens at doteasy –
