Domain Mapping Issues-Urgent www.thespicefairy.com

This was sent to me in an email:

    Custom Domain for thespicefairydotcom.wordpress.com

Howdy, you recently asked us to activate the domain mapping upgrade to use your domain name thespicefairy.com as the address of your site thespicefairydotcom.wordpress.com
As explained during the purchase process, the last step requires you to change your domain name DNS settings to use:
    NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

    Instead of:

    ns1.bluehost.COM
    ns2.bluehost.COM
If you need to check the status of your domain mapping upgrade, visit the Me> Manage Purchases section of your dashboard.

    My Questions:
1.Do I need to downgrade my site from http://www.thespicefairy.com to http://www.thespicefairydotcom.wordpress.com?

I purchased my domain name from Bluehost but am using WordPress through them to set up my site. I thought I needed to pay for both if I did not want adds to fill my website. Do I need to just pay one or the other? I can cancel Bluehost and just stick with WordPress if necessary?

Is it a problem for WordPress that my website is hosted by Bluehost yet designed in WordPress?

With the $13 that I paid, I stated that I already owned my domain. If I switch to WordPress permanently, will I need to pay any additional money to keep my domain name http://www.thespicefairy.com and keep it as add free as possible?

Please get back to me as soon as possible because I am nearing a time when I can no longer get a refund for my site on either Bluehost or WordPress.

There are two different kinds of WordPress. One version is running here on WordPress.com where all the tech stuff is handled for you. The upside is they make it as easy as possible to set up and begin blogging. The downside is the restrictions on what you can do. For example you can’t install plugins or buy a theme somewhere else and install it here. Ads may be shown on your site and customizations are somewhat limited. There is an option to upgrade to a Premium plan which has more features (includeing more customization options) than the free plan and also removes ads.

With the other WordPress you have complete freedom to do whatever you want with your site. There are no ads unless you put them up yourself. However, it can take a bit more work to set up because you have to register a domain, buy hosting, install plugins and so on, but you’ve done most of that already. It’s based on the free software from WordPress.org, which is what you’d be dealing with on Bluehost.

For more information about the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org, visit: http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

If you choose to set up your site on WordPress.com, cancel the hosting (but keep the domain registration) at Bluehost.

If you stay with Bluehost, cancel the domain mapping on WordPress.com. Go to your Manage Purchases page, look for the upgrade you wish to cancel, and click “Cancel and Refund”.
