Domain mapping – keep your content?
-
I’m looking at setting up my blog on my website. I was curious though, does it move over all your existing content? Or are you starting over with a new ‘hello world’ post?
Also, when I move it over… can I have it map to mooreclick.com/blog instead of straight to mooreclick.com? The issue is that I’m currently using this domain as a portfolio site. I’d like to be able to get the kinks worked out, and styled the way I like it before I move it over to being the main page. Has anyone else done this?

If you are looking to host the blog externally, along with your web site, you will need to use the WordPress.org software. Please review http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ for the differences between this and WordPress.com (where you currently are).
You will need to head over to http://www.wordpress.org/support for the appropriate support forums for this software.
If you wish to then transfer content from your WordPress.com blog, please refer to http://support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#moving-between-wordpresscom-blogs for how to do so using the Tools -> Export/Import functions in your dashboard.
If you are still looking to use WordPress.com, however, and I have misunderstood, please let me know.
