Domain mapping not working

I am trying to start a new blog I purchased the domain on another service. When i try to use this domain on wordpress it says that the domain is already being used by another user but I own the domain. When I select the ‘do you own this domain map ‘ option nothing happens it just ask me to keep choosing a new domain.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi thestatemint,

Can you try creating a blog using the .wordpress.com Free option first, using a different blog address?

You’ll still be able to map the domain that you’ve registered to your blog after that.

Skip the new blog advice – domain mapping custom domain names are not related to the base blog and the base blog name has NOTHING to do with mapping problems.

What is the custom domain name you can’t map?

If the name was mapped to a blog here, the old domain mapping might not have cleared if the mapping expired, in that case the staff can clear the old mapping – – if the mapping has not expired maybe the staff can reach out to the owner of the mapping and have it cleared, else you will need to wait until the mapping expires

Ok, you should be able to map the domain now following this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
