Domain Mapping only?

  Hey folks, I’m trying to map my domain for $13, just like I’ve done on another profile previously which is still up and running properly. However, the system always pushes me to a premium plan purchase, preventing me from completing this simple process. Do y’all have any advice?

  Are you looking to map your domain using a Personal plan rather than the Premium plan? That’s definitely possible.

  Hi Jay, Thanks for helping out! I’m looking to just spend the money on the domain mapping, while staying on the free plan. I know it’s possible since it’s working for another project I have, but I have trouble finding that option.

  Happy to help.

  Although that may have been the case in the past (I’m not sure, actually) currently it is required that you’re on a WordPress.com paid plan before you can map a custom domain.

  You can see that on the Pricing page and on the Domain Mapping article.

  Feel free to upgrade to the Personal plan so you can map the domain.
