Domain mapping or transferring domain

    Hi,

    I currently own a domain somewhere else and plan to continue the same domain.

    Now, the situation is: I want to host it on wordpress.com without advertisement. So, what is the best way for doing it?

    Confusion is: 1) Whether to go for Domain Mapping or should I transfer the my current domain to wordpress and use the service 2) Cost aspects for both the alternatives with no ads plan

    Help in this regard would be highly appreciated.

    If you wish to move your domain and transfer here at WordPress.com then refer below link
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/incoming-domain-transfer/

    In both above cases and in addition to no ads plan you need to have upgraded WordPress.com plan

    The issue is coming while going to checkout.

    Its coming $48 for Mapping while for transferring it is costing $96. In both the cases, it is coming with an upgraded plan.

    Kindly note that I had mapping with my domain earlier but it was costing $13 for the same.

    Separate domain mapping purchase which was available in past is no more available. Now transfer and mapping needs upgraded plan as explained by @kruttikaphalke

    You can first upgrade your plan to Personal/Premium/Business depending on your requirement and then you can map or transfer your domain.

    Its coming $48 for Mapping while for transferring it is costing $96

    Hi @dhavalvyas, our personal, premium, and business plans all come with a domain credit. You can use that to map a domain, transfer and map, or buy a new domain and map it to our servers.

    So you can start by buying the plan of your choice from wordpress.com/pricing, then head to Domains to add the domain to your site either by transferring it or mapping it.
