Domain mapping problem
-
Hello, I have mapped my principal domain to an existing domain following instructions from the support documentation. But it maps to the Worpress website homepage and not my blog. Any advice ? I can’t seem to find information about this. Thanks in advance for your help. Best regards.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Your username is linked to the home page of WordPress.com and not to your blog.
This URL http://onetinybanana.wordpress.com/ redirects to the home page of WordPress.com. Did you pay WordPress.com com for a domain mapping upgrade?
What is the domain URL starting with http:// ? -
You appear to have your domain name forwarded to the main WordPress.com page.
Per the guide at http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/ please make sure that you are not forwarding your domain and the nameservers are set as:
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COM -
This might be part of the problem:
Name Servers:
ns1.wordpress.com
ns2.wordpress.com
ns3.wordpress.com
ns4.wordpress.com
ns5.wordpress.com
ns6.wordpress.comns4, 5 & 6 are not valid name servers – you need to undo that part.

Dear Both, thanks for your prompt answers.
@timethief : Yes I have paid the upgrade for domain mapping. The URL should be http://lapetitebanane.com it is added correctly to my list of domains, and set as principal domain.
staff-blorbo : my registrar needs an IP address so I listed the 3 adresses shown in that link. I don’t know how I would have forwarded my domain. I am not very familiar with all this.
Thanks again for your help, it is very much appreciated.

We can’t do mapping via IP address, you’ll need to change your nameservers.
Your domain is your property, so I recommend asking your registrar why they’re refusing to allow you to alter your nameservers.

Hi – I’m having problems too. I have changed the server names to NS1 etc…..but can’t now complete the mapping as when I click on the Store in the dashboard it doesn’t take me anywhere. There’s no option to upgrade or add the domain. I know it works because I have done it with WP before.
Clicking on store just seems to refresh the page.

Can you please try clearing your browser’s cookies and cache?

Hi – thanks Macmanx you were right all the way – I have contacted my registrar to change the servernames to do mapping instead of via IP address. and then I cleared my cache and cookies. And it now works ! Thanks very much for your help ! Best regards.
