domain mapping problem – cannot get domain data
-
Dear Support!
I want to purchase the domain mapping upgrade for my site reikialdas.wordpress.com. Currently I own the reikialdas.hu domain and use wp.org,, but moved my site here for convenience.
I followed the description here ( http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/) to contact my domain registrar, however the reply was the following:
“Wrong dns:
M-GREET -I- [reikialdas.hu] Domi version 20140123
M-STA -I- [reikialdas.hu] Starting from: ns1.wordpress.com
M-NADD -I- [reikialdas.hu] NS addr: 192.0.80.93
M-PRIF -E- [reikialdas.hu] Cannot get domain data (192.0.80.93 ns1.wordpress.com)”Can you please help me what might be wrong?
Thank you for your help in advance.
Eszter

Hi there,
Not to worry, as it can be a few minutes or hours until a domain change like that is updated on the internet. To be safe, I visited your site, and your domain appears to be working properly. Here is a screenshot of what I see at your domain:
To explain, there is a process called propagation, where information about the domain change is updated world-wide. This process can take up to 72 hours (though usually much less). During that time, you may also receive a warning message in your browser about “redirect errors” or a blank white screen.
Unfortunately, we have no control over this as it all depends on how often your internet service provider updates their records. Please rest assured that everything is proceeding normally with your domain.
If you still have trouble viewing the site after 72 hours has passed, please try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies:
If that doesn’t work, try clearing your local DNS cache:

Please let me know if you have any more questions.
