domain mapping question

  hello,
  I currently own just my domain through squarespace.
  however, I would like to map my domain to show my wordpress site.
  I understand that there is a charge but whenever I go to proceed with payment.
  it automatically adds annual subscription.
  can i just purchase the domain mapping service as opposed to annual subscription?

  To add custom domain to your site you need to upgrade to personal plan.

  WordPress.com offers three plans each plan comes with some additional features.

  – No, this is not possible as you have to be on paid plan to add custom domain to your site and once you upgrade to the plan it includes a free domain credit (either you buy a new domain or you can add your previous domain to that site)

  Hi there,

  To sum up @shubhamgmath’s thorough reply – In order to map a domain on WordPress.com, you need to upgrade to any of our paid plans. There’s no other way to get a standalone domain mapping upgrade.
