domain mapping question

Hi,
I was just wondering if when you get domain mapping, i.e. your own domain on wordpress.com, does that allow you to use adsense and things, or advertise for affiliate products. And just in general, are you allowed to include links say to affiliates you’re plugging on wordpress, whether or not you have a custom domain?
thanks,
WillThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

WordPress.com is a free hosted blog service You do not have FTP access and cannot upload any themes or plugins into a wordpress.com blog. Themes are limited to those you find here > Appearance > Themes. Underlying templates cannot be edited and functionality cannot be altered. You can change appearance of a theme only via a paid annually renewable CSS editing upgrade. You cannot use certain codes and the types of blogs allowed are limited. Also no advertising is allowed on free hosted blogs, unless your blog is accepted into the AdControl program. At wordpress.com you do not have to download software, pay for hosting or manage a web server.
WordPress.org is free software for self hosting. You can install themes and plugins, run ads, and edit the database. More information here > http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
The upgrade entry states this:
Before Upgrading
The Domain Mapping Upgrade does not enable the permission to use advertising, any kind of prohibited code, or upload additional themes and plugins. With the upgrade, your blog will still be hosted here at WordPress.com, which means that you will not have FTP access to your files and must still abide by our Terms of Service accordingly. http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/#before-upgrading -
If you want advertising on your blog, then look into self hosting and using WordPress.ORG

http://wordpress.org/.org and .com are different.

thanks for the responses.tess and timethief
Jeesh what a bunch of restrictions. In the self hosted blog can you write html code into it and so on? Does it cost anything? I’m thinking I might be better off with that.

Does it cost anything?
There is a price range for web hosting like anything else. Here’s a link to some recommended hosts but there are many others as well http://wordpress.org/hosting/
<blockqoute>is it fairly easy to transfer your blog on the .com to the .org?
Yes, it’s easy to export your wordpress.com blog contents and links our of your blog and import them into a new wordpress.org install. http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#moving-to-wordpress-org
