Domain Mapping Removed and won't stop
-
Hi,
I have recently hosted my domain carolinapolocrosse.com on a self hosted server. Earlier carolinapolocrosse.com was mapped to my carolinapolocrosse.wordpress.com site.
After domain transfer and everything, still when I try to access carolinapolocrosse.com/wp-admin it directs me to the carolinapolocrosse.wordpress.com instead of opening self hosted control panel.
How can I remove mapping of my domain carolinapolocrosse.com from wordpress.com blog? I have been to purchases and removed the mapping upgrade there as well as deleted the wordpress.com site.
Thanks.

scpolocrosse.com is hosted by Dreamhost
IP Address: 173.236.187.85
Name Servers:
ns2.dreamhost.com
ns1.dreamhost.com
ns3.dreamhost.comThat site is not on our servers. You are posting to the wrong support forum.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, support docs and support forums, and many people get confused about the two.
The wordpress.ORG login link is here https://login.wordpress.org/ If you do not have an account yet then click Create an account https://login.wordpress.org/register/ and if you have lost an account password click Lost password? https://login.wordpress.org/lostpassword/
This is wordpress.COM support. We provide support only for wordpress.COM hosted sites. Our support docs do not apply to
(1) local installs of wordpress.ORG software on your own server or
(2) wordpress.ORG software installs on paid hosting, and we do not provide support for them at wordpress.COM.Also, note that we do not provide Jetpack support https://jetpack.com/support/ for sites linked to wordpress.COM accounts with the Jetpack plugin so they display on the My Sites wordpress.com account page.
Some Jetpack solutions are here http://jetpack.com/support/
Others are in the Jetpack support forum at WordPress.org
http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpackHowever, if help cannot be found at either one then they can file a Jetpack support ticket here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/?jetpack=needs-service
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
WordPress.org support docs are at https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page

Hi Timethief,
I want to remove the WORDPRESS.COM site so that it no longer maps to my site hosted by my Dreamhost account and I can then use their WORDPRESS.ORG install. I realize they are completely separate, and that is my entire reason doing this switch. I cannot get rid of the mapping in my WORDPRESS.COM account which is why I have posted in this forum.
If you have any advice on this, please help me. I changed the nameservers on my Carolinapolocrosse.com site to try to get away from wordpress.COM as was given in the advice area of another forum thread that seemed to help out that user who was having a similar issue.

I think my original post had the wrong site associated with it. I am looking for assistance with CAROLINAPOLOCROSSE.COM so that it stops mapping to CAROLINAPOLOCROSSE.WORDPRESS.COM. Please disregard the line that refers to scpolocrosse.com as that site is not having any issues and is purely a wordpress.org site.

Hi,
I can confirm domain mapping is no longer active for carolinapolocrosse.com.
When I visit carolinapolocrosse.com I am seeing a self hosted WordPress.org site, not a WordPress.com site (carolinapolocrosse.wordpress.com).
It sounds like your browser may have cached the old ‘connection’ between carolinapolocrosse.com and carolinapolocrosse.wordpress.com (which has been deleted). Can you clear your browser cache for me? There are instructions for different browsers here:
Let me know how you get on.

Hi gemmacevans,
I saw in another thread with someone having a similar problem that they needed to wait for it to happen. I cleared my cache again before trying this morning. It is all up and running fine now. Thank you for your help!
