Domain mapping renewal

  I bought my domain benkama.com from another registrar last year and it expired when I was on vacation in another country. Now I’d like to purchase the same domain registration from you as it will be much cheaper to get both the domain and the mapping wordpress.com.

  I don’t know if it’s possible to get the same domain anymore as it seems to be directed to ad space. If not, I can also use .net or .org domains. I couldn’t find information about this in the FAQ section.

  It looks like your domain was purchased by a third party after it expired, and is no longer available. Your best alternative is to purchase the .net or .org version of the domain, as you’ve noted–you can do this via Store -> Domains in your WordPress.com blog’s dashboard.

  Alright, thank you very much for this! I guess I’ll have to start promoting my site all fresh now :)

  Annoying though that there seems to be companies dedicated to snatching domains that become available, ripping money off people that forget or can’t resubscribe their domains… I guess that’s opportunistic capitalism for you! Lesson learnt.
