Domain Mapping Renewal?
-
For the past couple days, when I have logged on to wordpress.com, I receive a notice that the domain mapping for blog.princelaw.com needs to be renewed and that the price is $13. After submitting the credit card information, I receive a notice at the top of the page “This blog is not subscribed to some of these products. Did you mean to purchase them?”
First, I am under the understanding that we did previously have the domain mapping, based on the alert that is popping up. Hence, I am confused as to why it says we are not subscribed to some of the services being purchased.
Second, there is no way to accept or acknowledge that I want to purchase them, assuming such to be necessary. I have even attempted to resubmit the CC info, only for the same notice, specified above, to pop up.
Can anyone give me some assistance?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Blogs are not owned by companies or organizations or any kind of groups. Every WordPress.COM blog has a sole owner. It is the person with the WordPress.COM username account who registered the blog under that username account and a single associated email address, and who is the original Admin of all the blogs registered under that username account. In most case it is that username account that purchases the upgrades for their blogs.
You have to be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard and renew any upgrades at Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades
https://en.support.wordpress.com/my-upgrades/Invalid CNAME
Your domain has a CNAME record, but its value is incorrect. The record should point blog.princelaw.com to princelaw.wordpress.com. It is currently set to princelaw.wordpress.COM.There is information on how to set up domain mapping in our support documentation.

Timethief,
Thank you for your response. I was unaware of the limitation that only the user account that registered the account, and not any of the Admins to the account, could purchase upgrades. Once I determined the original user account, I was to pay for the domain mapping.
In relation to the CNAME, can you give me any info on where to change it? I looked around in the settings and don’t see it. Everywhere I see it, it is princelaw.wordpress.com not princelaw.wordpress.COM. Also, how does capitalization affect it, as I have never heard of capitalization affecting web addresses. Thanks again!

I’m seeing http://blog.princelaw.com/ point correctly to your WordPress.com site. Are you still getting the error message?
-
I never received any error. The only pop up that I saw was the requirement to renew the domain mapping, which I was able to pay based on the insight that timethief provided me. Timetheif had also mentioned this issue about the CNAME, which is the issue that I am attempting to correct but don’t understand where the issue is and how to correct it. Thanks!

Unless I am missing something, I’m not seeing anything wrong with your setup. If blog.princelaw.com is pointing where you want it to, then it is set up correctly. If it isn’t pointing where you want it to, then there is an issue somewhere.
Let me know if so.
