Domain Mapping Renewal

  I just renewed my domain mapping but instead of expiring 12 months from now (that was the meaning of annually the last time I checked) it is slated for renewal in 11 months! Can someone explain why this is so?

  According to WordPress.com staff the domain mapping upgrade is for 12 months, but the auto-renew kicks in at month 11 to allow time to resolve any payment problems that may arise:
