How do I renew domain mapping?

You need to be logged in as the EXACT account that owns the Upgrade to renew it – is there another account that you might have used?
Dashboard >> Store >> My Upgrades

What if that person is not associated with the site or available any more? I am an administrator, but was not originally involved and the person who built the site has moved on.

Domain Mapping can be allowed to expire then purchased again by the Admin for the blog – the staff would need to help at times to clear the expired Domain Mapping upgrade so it can be purchased again and not renewed

What is the domain name you need to renew the domain mapping for and the base WordPress.COM that you want to renew the domain mapping to

If the domain name registration is owned by another account /person they they would need to transfer the registration to you

We need to renew the mapping for http://nonprofitstrategiesmn.com/. The base WordPress.com site is http://carolnulsen.wordpress.com. Carol Nulsen owns the rights to http://nonprofitstrategiesmn.com/ and is available to agree to any of this and/or OK it. I am just helping her out. She is presently and Editor on the site, but I could upgrade her to admin if that helps.

The domain name (nonprofitstrategiesmn.com/.) is fine, no need to change or panic, it is registered for several more years at Network Solutions
The domain mapping – the best is if you can contact the person that bought the domain mapping upgrade and have them transfer it to a person (account) that will be with the org. for a long time – they can do that from their
Dashboard >> My Upgrades >> Mouse over the upgrade and click on the Transfer link and follow the instructions – being sure to spell the account correctly
Or they can log in here and with small clear words explain which upgrade they want to transfer to which account – and the staff will transfer the upgrade for you
If none of those work – then the staff can work with you to help you buy a new domain mapping upgrade when the old one expires (sometimes they need to clear the expired upgrade)

Thanks so much. I have contacted the original person. If she does not get back to us, how do I contact the staff for this help? The mapping expires today.

The staff will contact you either here or send you an email.
There is a bit of a grace period on domain mapping so your site will not turn into a pumpkin at the stroke of midnight. :)

One of the downside’s on renewals is there is not a way for another Admin / Editor to renew an upgrade for a blog if they don’t own the upgrade. Would make life easier for multi-person blogs.

As auxclass noted, we need to hear from the upgrade owner, in this case Sarah, to renew the upgrade on her account.
If she’s not available, since you’re also an administrator on the site, since it’s just a domain mapping and not domain registration itself (which is a whole different ball of wax!), I can transfer the upgrade to your account and you can purchase the renewal.

We have emailed Sarah, but do not even know if she still uses that email address, is in the country . . ..
I have just upgraded the owner of the site, Carol Nulsen, wordpress name mariebeim, to administrator and am email copying her on all of this. To prevent this problem in the future, it seems to me to make sense for her to have this renewing power. Would you transfer it to her, or, if that is difficult, to me? Thanks so much. -

I’ve just moved the upgrade to your account. You should be able to log into the site’s Dashboard and renew it under Store > My Upgrades.
