Domain Mapping Renewal and Jetpack

  My domain mapping has come up for renewal — ends tomorrow — but I can’t renew because it isn’t available for a jetpack site…anyone want to explain this to me? Since I have a self-hosted site, is domain mapping even necessary?

  WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums.   As you are referring to a wordpress.ORG software install on paid hosting, if you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right-hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.

  I asked the question here since wordpress.COM is where the renewal came up. I’m guessing I don’t need to renew anything with wordpress.COM since Jetpack isn’t available there and thus explains why it isn’t letting me renew.
