domain mapping reverse?

  I have a domain http://www.abc.com/wordpressblog
  I uploaded the wordpress blog from the fantastico section of my cpanel. it was never a blogname.wordpress.com blog.
  Is there a way for me to have my visitors be able to type in http://www.abc.com and have that take them directly to the blog. instead of them having to type in http://www.abc.com/wordpressblog for the link? This way, I don’t have to create my own index page to point them to the blog when they just type in the domain name http://www.abc.com.

  is this clear enough?
  can someone help me or direct me to where I can find out this answer.

  I’ve read the domain mapping section, and it tells me how I can turn a blogname.wordpress.com blog into http://www.abc.com/blogname but it doesn’t tell me if I can turn http://www.abc.com/blogname into JUST http://www.abc.com and have it pointed directly to the blog.

  is this possible?

  You need to be asking at WordPress.org, as we are running different software here and only know the issue as it relates to WordPress.com.
