Domain Mapping Upgrade

    I renewed my domain on WordPress. I also have the same domain registered through Godaddy. Is this redundant? Do I need to keep my Godaddy account?

    No, it’s not redundant. Yes, keep your GoDaddy account.

    The GoDaddy account lets you keep using the domain methowdog.com, provided you renew the registration each year. The WordPress.com part points (maps) your domain to your blog’s content. If you dropped either one, then methowdog.com would stop working.
