Domain mapping upgrade

I’m getting the domain mapping upgrade warning for our site ptecovillage.org. Do we now have to pay for domain mapping? Our current plan is the free one. Thanks.

re: renewing upgrades
You have to be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard, renew or cancel any upgrades, claim a refund for any qualified upgrades, and disable auto-renew. If you are not logged in under the correct username account clear your browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache and cookies https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-wordpress-com-cookies and then login under the correct username account.
If you do not have the required access you need to contact the person who registered the account and site under it and have them transfer the sites to your username account by using this process. http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account

I am still not clear whether there has been a change in terms of service. Is it recent that to have a custom domain name you have to pay for it?

I am guessing that that another person registered the account as I do not see an option to upgrade domain mapping by itself. Can you check that for me? thanks

Mapping has always been an upgrade that we have charged for. I checked your account and the mapping upgrade that you had expired last month. It was connected to the premium plan that was purchased. Let me know if you are interested in renewing and I would be happy to assist.

hi, i’ve paid for domain mapping for thekcollectionblog.wordpress.com and mapped it to my purchased domain, but it is giving me the error Warning! Domain mapping upgrade for this domain not found. Please log in and go to the Domains Upgrades page of your blog to use this domain. What am I doing wrong?

How do you do this? –> The WordPress.COM upgrade for mapping a domain must be renewed annually.

I was able to map ptecovillage.org for you. You’ll still need to do a few things:
1) Purchase the subscription here by renewing:
https://wordpress.com/my-upgrades2) If you haven’t done so already, point the domain to our name servers:
ns1.wordpress.com
ns2.wordpress.com
ns3.wordpress.com3) After giving that a few hours to take effect, set the domain as primary under https://wordpress.com/my-domains
