Domain mapping upgrade is mandatory?

  With help of support from WordPress I could insert my DNS and it works fine.
  But the problem now is that I’m receiving a warning about domain mapping, so, is mandatory have this upgrade for my website?

  If you want to direct a domain name to your WordPress.com blog, it is mandatory.

  Is that what you’re referring to?
