Domain mapping upgrade prevents theme change

  I paid for the domain registration and mapping with wordpress.com which works fine, but now when I attempt to change my theme it just hangs on the progress bar, doesn’t seem to ever time out, and never gives any feedback as to what the problem might be.

  I have other wordpress.com blogs that are not mapped to an external domain, and there is no difficulty in changing the themes of those blogs.

  I also carried out the cookie-clearing two-step, tango, and rumba, all to no avail with the mapped domains.

  It doesn’t seem to make a difference whether the redirect goes from myblog.wordpress.com to myblog.com or the other way around.

  This is something you need to contact support about. Volunteers in the forums have no access to the back end.

  Hi, I just did the domain mapping and I am experiencing the same thing. The trick for now is you can switch your domain to WordPress first while making your theme change, then use your paid domain once you’ve finished customizing your blog. Hope it helps. I hope this technical issue can be resolved soon. : )
