Domain Mapping Upgrade – What do the URL’s look like?

  • Unknown's avatar

    Evening all,

Now this may sound like an elementary question (but I can’t find the answer anywhere!) once you map your WP site to your own domain, what do your URL’s look like? Do they retain their original names but just have your domain at the beginning?

Also what will the new URL’s look like? On WP.com I have configured it, so that it shows the month/day and of course the post name. Will this roll over if I get the domain mapping upgrade for WP.com hosted sites?

    Thank you!

When you map a custom domain to your WordPress.com site, your URLs will change from http://example.wordpress.com/ to http://example.com/

The month, day, and post name at the end (AKA permalink structure) remains the same. There isn’t a way to change the permalink structure on WordPress.com.
