domain mapping / when active?

Dear Sir/Madam, i just paid for mapping http://www.mariehelenecussac.eu to my http://www.mariehelenecussac.wordpress.com (which I’ve had for a while). I thought I was doing the right thing to remove the .wordpress.com / My question is: when does it get active? Because if I look for http://www.mariehelenecussac.eu, it says it does not exist. It does not look like your name servers are set to WordPress.COM
Did you follow these instructions? http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
You might need a zone record to be added – I will flag this for the staff to help you
Once things are set correctly it can take 24 to 72 hours for changes to reach the far corners of the internet – due to caching issues you will probably be the last one to see the changes

Thanks to both of you. Now I feel stupid(!) Does it mean that I have to BUY mariehelenecussac.eu as a domain? Coz I thought: I have my free .wordpress.com blog and I pay the annual $13 to remove the .wordpress.com thingy and have my domain name. Haha. I was wrong, right? mh

yes it needs to be registered somewhere (WordPress.COM can’t register .eu domain names – but the domain name can be mapped to a blog here)
There are two parts to remove the “wordpress.com” from the address seen by visitors – the domain name needs to be registered and it also needs to be mapped to a blog here – two charges

This may be the exact same question but I am at a loss so I’ll ask anyway… I recently signed up with WP and got two blogs…. I also registered a domain name. Now my primary blog is not at the domain name address, its at WP.com. Is there an easy way to fix this? The blog that is at the domain name is inactive. THX!
