Do I need to purchase the domain mapping upgrade with an outside host server?

  I now have my WordPress blog hosted on Bluehost and the domain name registered at GoDaddy. Do I still need to pay the annual fee of $12 to have domain mapping, and the name pointed to my WordPress site, even though it is hosted by Bluehost? Thank you.

  Hi there,

  If you already have a blog hosted on a different host server, it sounds like you’re using the free WordPress.org software available at http://wordpress.org

  To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two separate entities:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

  If you have a self-hosted install of WordPres.org, you do not need to purchase the domain mapping upgrade as this is only necessary for WordPress.com users who want to remove the *.wordpress.com from their blog URLs.
