Domain Mapping With Free Account ?

    I have a a free account but wish to map to my own domain. I have done this on a previous site and am now setting up a second site and the option to do this seems to be gone now.

    When I try to map a domain name wordpress asks me to sign up for a paid plan. Did this change recently ? I did this in October of 2016 and it was only a $13.00 fee.

    This has been a recent change. Previously you were able to map a domain for $13 / year.

    You’ll want to add WordPress.com Personal to your account and then follow these instructions to map the domain: https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/

    The Personal plan has additional features too that can be found at wordpress.com/pricing/
