Domain Mapping & Zone Files

  Dear Support Team,

  It seems that the name servers are still in place for domain parralmf.org.au and we are planning to redelegate to Netregistry. Before doing so, we wish to replicate zone files that are still relevant. Therefore, we would like to request for a copy of the zone files. Then we would like to confirm with you on the redelegation/removal of domain mapping process before proceeding.
  Could you please kindly advise?

  Hi there!

  Can you clarify what you’re trying to accomplish here?

  The domain parralmf.org.au is not registered here at WordPress.com nor is it currently mapped to a WordPress.com site. If you’re going to use the domain on another site hosted elsewhere, you just need to update your domain nameservers at Netregistry to point to your new hosting provider.

  Hi there,

  Thanks for your attention.
  Just to clarify, the domain parralmf.org.au is registered with Netregistry.
  We upgraded the plan and had domain mapping in place some time ago and the name servers are still pointing to ns1.wordpress.com, ns2.wordpress.com and ns3.wordpress.com.
  The member of our team who was managing the site left without much handover therefore the plan was automatically unsubscribed due to out dated payment info.
  As mentioned, we wish to retrieve any zone files/records we had for the domain under wordpress.com as a backup and reference.
  Would you be able to assist?

  Thanks for confirming.

  According to what I can see, this is records we had for your domain the last time it was connected to us.

  • NS Record – ns1.wordpress.com
  • NS Record – ns2.wordpress.com
  • NS Record – ns3.wordpress.com
  • A Record – points to 103.27.35.28

  To clarify, the first 3 records send domain traffic to WordPress.com (nameserver records have the highest priority) and the once traffic lands here, it is redirected away from us by the A Record to 103.27.35.28, which is an IP address associated with an outside hosting provider, likely the current host of the site files.
