Domain Mappting

  I recently mapped a different domain to a WordPress site for free, now there’s a $99 ‘WordPress.com Premium – annual subscription’ at checkout that I can’t remove without clearing the domain mapping which it states is free. Is this $99 mandatory?

  Hi there!

  When a site has a plan added (Personal, Premium, or Business), it comes with a credit that you can use to register/map a domain at no additional cost. That’s why it appears as “free” during checkout.

  So to answer your question, the $99 (Premium Plan) isn’t mandatory. The lower cost Personal Plan also comes with a domain credit. More info on mapping domains here:
