  I was wondering if it is possible to get a zipped copy of my wordpress site along with the SQL database so I can setup my site on my personal web server.

  If this is not possible can I keep my DNS hosted elsewhere and still have my WordPress website go live on your server? So instead of changing my name servers to you, I could just change the DNS A record for the website to the IP of your web server?

  It’s not possible to point a domain to your WordPress.com site via an A record. You’d need to keep your DNS hosted here.
