Domain Missing – DNS Error?

Okay, so, this is a doozy:

I was given the blog (it belongs to the place I intern at) and while the http://digital90210.com worked, http://www.digital90210.com did not. A minor complaint, but one we wanted to fix.

In the Admin account (wp-admin, you know the drill) someone changed the URL to the http://www.digital90210.com… Which seems to have crashed the whole thing. I no longer have access to the updated blog through the admin account (which is not this account) or any sub-accounts made through the site. The only access I have to is the old version of the blog, but regardless the site itself seems to be GONE on the frontend and backend of the site.

It seems to he a problem with how the DNS was set up? We’re not entirely sure. Any help would be appreciated.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I have flagged this for the staff to help

Your base blog login is: https://digital90210.wordpress.com/wp-login.php

It sounds the domain mapping settings have been changed – there is no “www” in the URL of a WordPress.COM blog (either domain mapped or plain blog) – but the “www” should forward to the address without the “www” seamlessly

    Hi there,

I just checked your site and it’s up and running for me, so it looks like you were able to sort this out. However, I just want to do a quick recap in case you or others looking at this forum thread need it:

The domain digital90210.com is registered at WordPress.com but pointed to a self-hosted site (not hosted at WordPress.com). You mentioned that someone changed the URL for the site — if the URL for the site was changed within the self-hosted site’s WordPress settings, that’s not actually related to the domain’s DNS.

You can use the WordPress.org guide to Changing The Site URL for more information about how to change your site’s URL within WordPress, and to fix any errors that’s caused. (The WordPress.org forums can help sort out any issues or questions related to changes within WordPress on a self-hosted site.)

If for some reason you’re still having trouble with this, and what I described above isn’t the issue, please let me know or contact us for more help sorting out any issues with the domain itself. :)
