Domain Name
-
We registered a domain through you all. http://www.johnwesleychurch.com. Then we tried to have it transferred because we are using E-Zekiel for our website. For most people, they can get to the e-Zekiel site with no problem. But when some people typed in that address, it would take them back to the WordPress site. So we tried deleting the WordPress site but the domain name is still registered to WordPress. I went online to see what to do and it said that we need to unlock the domain to transfer it. Now I’m not sure what to do. Help!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

This question is very similar to mine. I was about to renew my domain, but reading this makes me want to wait. My domain is also registered through WordPress, and I have liked it, but I have a developer and web marketer helping me now, so we want to move the site to his server. I have not renewed my domain. What do I need to do to transfer the domain? Do I need to renew it, or wait?

Hi there,
I checked your account and you canceled the site and the domain. Since you canceled the domain, it is currently on hold with our registrar. I refunded the $13 under your account because the mapping isn’t needed for your blog since it is not registered at the moment. I can see if I can get the domain back from the registrar, but there is no guarantee.
If I am able to retrieve the domain, to unlock and transfer a domain to a different registrar, you will need to follow the steps on our support page:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/transfer-domain-registration/
Let me know if you would like me to try and retrieve the domain for you.
Thanks!

E-Zekiel is telling me that I need to put in the following information but WordPress won’t let us edit the NS. That’s what led us to cancel the service but it just made it worse. Thank you for your help.
ns1.websrvcs.com
ns2.websrvcs.com -
They also directed us to point the WordPress site to 66.182.141.168 but that was directing some people to the new site and some people to the other site.
We don’t mind if the address is registered and renewed through WordPress. We just need all the mapping to be correct.

Hey there,
Not a problem. Yes, you cannot point the domain to that A Record or change the nameservers at the moment because it is on hold by our registrar. However, I did contact them and should hear from them shortly about getting it back.
So, I will contact you as soon as I hear from them and I can help you transfer the domain, point the nameservers, or point to the A record – whatever you prefer.
Thanks!

When I click on your link all it does is take me to a page that says that johnwesleychurchdotcom.wordpress.com is no longer available.
-
ns1.websrvcs.com
ns2.websrvcs.com66.182.141.168
I believe this is the information needed to point to the correct website. I can’t see the site on WordPress or on that link. Can you put the information in for us?
-
Hey there,
I pointed your nameservers over to ns1.websrvcs.com and
ns2.websrvcs.com. It can take up to 72 hours for the change to propagate, so let me know if you don’t see any changes after that time. Thanks!

Right now when I type in http://www.johnwesleychurch.com it says “webpage not available. Is that common during a change over?
Or does it also need to have 66.182.141.168 in there as well?

66.182.141.168
Our new site says that you need to point the A server to the above address and that should fix the problem.
Thanks so much for all of your help!
