Domain name

  Hi! I am about to upgrade my site but when I am at checkout it says my site is: lenasandbackacom.wordpress.com. I want my domain name to be lenasandbacka.com as I previously had with Squarespace. It seems that it is currently locked so I have contacted Squarespace about unlocking it. But my question is: Can I change the domain name after the purchase has gone through or do I need to change it before? If so, how do I do that?

  Hi Lena, you’re welcome to add the domain when you’d like!

  I noticed lenasandbacka.com is going through a cancellation/expiration process, and it looks like it’s nearly done.

  So if I were in your situation, here’s what I’d do:

  – Go ahead and set up your site as you’d like it. We have several tutorials here, depending on what you want to do:

  Or if you’d like, we have a service to build the site for you:

  – Add your upgrade as soon as you need it for other features. You can skip the domain for now if needed. I’d try every day or so to add the domain you want. If they don’t release it for whatever reason, you can cross that bridge when you come to it and pick a new name, but you’ll have a site ready.
