Domain Name

So I am an admin on a writer’s WordPress site. He’s getting a noticed that his domain is about to expire. I think this stems from purchasing the domain seperately years ago. However, he’s been on the Business Plan and the domain should be included. Is there a way to resolve this so his domain renews with the business plan? The blog is leeduigon.wordpress.com (leeduigon.com).

Hi there,
I can help with this, but we’ll need to either transfer the plan in your account to the leeduigon account, or we must transfer the domain to your account in order to bundle the domain with the plan.
If you want to transfer the plan to the other account, please reply here to confirm. If it’s the domain that needs to be transferred, I’ll need the user, leeduigon, to comment here to confirm.
Note that either way the current owner of the upgrade will lose ownership, and only the other account will be able to make changes to the upgrade going forward, including renewing and cancelling, as well as making changes to the domain settings.

Currently the leeduigon account has both the business plan and was pay extra for the domain name. We don’t need to transfer anything. I just want to make sure the leeduigon.com domain is part of his plan.

leeduigon owns the domain. You, sireesanwar, own the Business Plan. In order to use the Business Plan to renew the domain they must be in the same account.
So we do need to transfer something – we either need to transfer your Business Plan to leeduigon or we need to transfer leeduigon’s domain to your account. leeduigon does not own any Business Plan upgrades.

Okay, I didn’t realize that. I thought I was always purchasing the Business Plan for leeduigon. So we want that Business Plan in his account and then his domain to be part of that package.
Can I ask what the Business Plan I own is on? Because I’m part of several blogs for my company and its authors. Don’t want to be taking away from any of those. I also got a noticed that said that Business Plan for leeduigon blog will renew in 59 days… Is this my Business Plan? If so, I would like to transfer it and make sure Lee’s account is all set up.

It is your Business Plan on leeduigon.wordpress.com which is approaching its renewal, yes.
I’ve transferred that plan to leeduigon’s account, linked it with the domain, and used the free domain in the plan to renew the domain.
Note that as the plan is no longer in your account it won’t autorenew with your payment details. leeduigon will need to go to their purchases page and add payment details for the Business Plan to ensure that it renews correctly when it expires in January. But the domain is now good until November 2017.
