  I created the domain name alineableson.wordpress.com, but I just wanted to use a domain that I already own instead of the wordpress domain. Can I eliminate the .wordpress.com domain and just use the domain name that I already own?

  Yes. You can use a domain you already own and map that domain name to your WordPress.com site.

  Keep in mind that you will need to upgrade your plan to the Personal level or higher in order to use your own domain name. You can read about the plans and pricing at https://wordpress.com/pricing/.
