  I would like my domain name to just be .com instead of .wordpress.com. Is there a way to do that?

  Yes. You can register your own custom domain name and use that name instead of your bucketlistsandbananas.wordpress.com name.

  In order to do that, you will need to upgrade to one of the paid WordPress.com accounts (any of the accounts will allow a custom domain).
