Once I have set up Myxxx.wordpress.com, can someone else set up a new domain anywhere on the web called Myxxx.com? In other words, is my domain name protected after I set it up with a x.wordpress.com format?

In this example – something.wordpress.com
.com is top level domain
wordpress is second level domain name
something is a subdomainSo if you own something.wordpress.com, you do not own something.com

I had no intention to submit my last post twice (or more?). Whenever I clicked “submit”, I received a message on the page saying – “There are problems submitting your post – please try again”, or something to that effect. That is why I clicked more than once, and when the message persisted, I modified my post slightly and posted again. I never received any acknowledgement that my post has been successfully submitted. I had actually given up. -
