  I would like to buy just a domain name and use the free blog software provided. How can I just purchase the upgraded domain name? Every time I tried to do this my cart has the premium membership included.

  Adding a domain to your site requires getting a Plan. The cheapest Plan you can get is the Personal Plan. This will cost $36 and is billed yearly. It is not possible to get Plans billed monthly. Once you purchase the Personal Plan, you get a free domain with it.
