Domain Name
-
Hello,
I previously had a blog on WordPress called FACELESSCAT but deleted it, anyway after a while I reconsidered and would like to use the same name which is already taken but deleted. My username has always been FACELESSCAT but I had to use facelesscats for my new blog, now this would be confusing the followers.
My question for you if I can use FACELESSCAT again, if you can do anything about this? My blog will be launched 25 March of this year so if I could be able to change it before that would be really amazing!
Thank you in advance!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

facelesscat.wordpress.com is no longer available.
The authors have deleted this site.
When a site is deleted, both the content and the site address are removed. The site address may become available again 2 years after deletion if there is no technical issue involved. If the site is available to be registered, you can try to do so. If it is not available, then you will need to choose another site address.
https://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/Having said that, have you considered purchasing or mapping a custom domain? Then it doesn’t matter what the underlying WordPressdotcom URL is.

I do want to purchase a domain custom name but that’s for in the future, if the blog goes well, right now it’s all a bit unsure so it would be a waste if it turns out to be nothing and I payed for it..

Thanks for clarifying. It’s not a huge investment if you begin with the annual Personal plan and that will give you the domain name you want right from the start. You might want to consider the following when adding a domain name later:
1. While your posts and pages will be redirected to the domain name, as I recall your stats will take a hit for a while.
2. Your social media shares will be reset and anyone clicking on existing ones may end up with a 404-not found error.
But of course you can also start and continue with the free yoursite.wordpress.com forever. :)
